NaNoWriMo is a funny thing. You start off on day 1 with a plan and oftentimes by the end of the month it’s not even on your radar anymore.
Today on Day 7 I decided to scrap the 5000+ words that I had written for the Horizion re-write to focus on finishing the untitled draft that I began back in April. By the end of Camp NaNoWriMo, this draft sat at 45,000 words. I’d say its about 65% done right now and will probably end up being around 75,000 to 80,000 words (unedited).
So, my new goal is to FINISH this draft. Forgetting any idea of word count goal. I’ll be keeping track of my word count, just for fun, but the ultimate goal here is to finish a draft, something that I haven’t done in over 5 years.
Wish me luck, fellow Nanos!
